Roam (“Roam”, “we”, “us”) is a world-radio app that lets you listen to live internet radio from around the globe, collect passport stamps, and follow curated journeys. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

1. Summary

• You can browse and listen as a guest without an account.
• An account (optional) is only needed to save favourites across devices and to use the sleep timer and alarm.
• We collect the minimum needed for those features. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

2. Information we collect

Account information (only if you sign in) — when you sign in with Apple or Google, our authentication provider (Google Firebase Authentication) receives and stores your email address (with Sign in with Apple this may be Apple’s private relay address), your name if provided, and a unique user identifier.

Your saved content (only if you sign in) — your favourite stations are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, associated with your user identifier, so they sync across devices.

On-device only — your passport/visited countries, recently played, sleep-timer and alarm settings, and guest listening count stay on your device and are not sent to us.

We do NOT collect your location, contacts, photos, health, financial data, or browsing history, and we include no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

3. Third-party services Roam connects to

• Radio-Browser (radio-browser.info) — the open station directory.
• Internet radio streams — pressing play connects your device directly to a third-party station’s stream; that broadcaster may receive your IP address and has its own privacy practices.
• Apple iTunes Search API — album artwork for recognised tracks.
• Wikipedia / Wikimedia — artist and landmark images.
• flagcdn.com — country flag images.
• Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore), Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple — optional account features.

4. How we use information

Only to authenticate you, sync and show your favourites, provide features you request (search, playback, timer, alarm), and maintain security. Never for advertising, profiling, or sale.

5. Notifications

If you set an alarm, Roam schedules a local notification on your device; tapping it opens Roam and starts your station. We operate no remote push service.

6. Data retention and deletion

• Local data is removed when you delete the app.
• You can delete your account at any time, right in the app — go to Profile → Delete Account. This permanently and immediately removes your account, your saved favourites, and your listening data.
• You may also request deletion by emailing [email protected]; we delete it within 30 days.

7. Children

Roam is not directed to children under 13 (or your region’s equivalent age) and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

8. Security

Authentication and database access run through Google Firebase over encrypted connections with access rules. No method is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

9. International users

Your information may be processed on Google (Firebase) servers outside your country. By using Roam you consent to this processing.

10. Your rights

Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA) you may access, correct, delete, or export your data and object to certain processing. Contact [email protected].
